In recent years, the term home office has certainly taken on a whole new meaning. With the popularity of telework, particularly in the high technology sector, there has been an enormous demand for home office furniture that is made for the technology of today. name, the desks are built around the computer. It is true that a large percentage of home office workers are in the high tech sector. Being a member of the high tech sector, it is important to me to find home office furniture that is made for the technology that I use every day. Home office computer desks have certain common features. A modern computer desk is usually equipped with a pull-out keyboard tray and there are usually a number of levels associated with the desk for your keyboard, monitor, and peripherals. If you want to save money you could create a a do-it-yourself desk by using two file cabinets, one on each end, and place a piece of plywood or a solid wood door on top for the desktop. The model that is shown here is a small wood and glass version where the wood is used for the

pull-out keyboard tray and the glass is used for the level above which will hold your computer monitor and will be your desktop. Once again, the frame is metal which allows for an open concept where there is no back to the desk allowing for wires to run freely to and from computer components and peripherals.

The choices are endless out there in the marketplace to furnish your home office with a contemporary office desk that is built for the technology of today. Home office desks and home office furniture of today are made to work with the various computer components that we use in our everyday lives. If you work at home you should do what I did and research the various options that are out there. Being a computer professional for many years, I have been afforded the luxury of working from home on a part-time basis. Since I have a personal computer as well as a company laptop, there are times when I need to access both of them. How I handled this situation in the past was to pull over a table and put it alongside my personal computer desk so that I could go back and forth between computers when needed (Before photo).
